I used Photoshop to take images and use clipping masks and text to make some holiday postcards. i used a tree on the right and snow for the text. and i used snow for the back on the left and used Christmas colors for the text.

professional article review

Belly Busting Content

the article i read was focused on comparing the restaurant business world to the animation business world. in truth they are similar in many ways and the blogger points these things out with many different comparisons.
he says that in the world of restaurants

Bottles

My 3-D bottles

I had used illustrator to make a line which we would than make a 3-D image of and move it around in a three dimensional space and put a cork in the top. i later went back in and messed around with the colors and other tools to get a glass look. i also made a name tag like symbol and than put it on the bottle so that it would movie with the bottle as it moved in the 3-D space.

Creative anarchy

the anarchy of creativity

this article explains to the reader what some of the rules of graphic design are. the author uses circular reasoning to show that their is rules but their are times that you should and shouldn't follow them but, with that he does bring some good points with him.

as a designer you must be creative but still fit into the clients demand. you must push the acceptable without breaking it. when designers get together we must collaborate to reach a goal but we also need leaders to help us get there. leaders need to help manage projects and help communicate to the group and, all designers need to know how to use programs and understand technology and trends that are happening right now.

Tomato Shadow

My Shadow
I took a image and than duplicated it and transformed it to make a realistic shadow. I used the gradient tool and a Gaussian blur with a feathered edge. i used a tomato because i wanted to do something easier for my first try. i will definitely use this skill for many of my future projects.

My Patterns

Brandon's Pattern

I made a simple pattern that would lock in or appear in a way that looked like that than i used Illustrator to make it a pattern that i could drop into any box or line if i needed to do so.

Stop Hitting Yourself

Stop Hitting Your Self

This bloggers post was about dealing with the stress and creative block that comes with a fast approaching deadline. The blogger suggest four easy solutions that will help with relaxing and allowing your creativity to flow.

    His content/argument

The blogger has a very good argument he talks about a problem that all designers face eventually creative block and stress. He as a graphic designer knows of the troubles that comes with taking on projects and work and he wrote about trying to look at websites to try and get some sort of inspiration and how if you do that it never works. Instead you should woodshed your ideas and really work on it tell you find something you think the client will like. He also mentioned that you will probably never feel like you did your best on a project before you ship it out and that sometimes you might fail but, that is okay.

     His Strengths/Weaknesses

The blogger has a good amount of content and has a nice amount of support for his subject. The blogger repeated himself more than he should have in his text and restated a lot of his content.

      The Roundup

I like the article and think it hits on some important subjects for any up and coming graphic designers. In a nutshell this is a thing for any one that is thinking of working in similar areas of work were the opinion of your client heavily outweighs yours.
